Kenya KISSON from the Hungarian roaster Casino Mocca is a refreshing filter coffee with the sparkling acidity of red currants, the spicy juiciness of pink grapefruit, and the delicate sweetness of white peaches. Each sip blends juiciness with elegance, and the coffee tastes like a citrus sorbet: fresh, clean, and vibrant. A great choice for those who love bold, bright filter coffees with complex acidity and a delicate sweet aftertaste.
The coffee comes from the Kisson Estate, located in the Kiambu region, approximately 40 kilometers from Nairobi, at the foot of the Aberdare Mountains. The 12-hectare plantation lies at an altitude of around 1,600 meters and is currently run by Peter Kimani, a third-generation farmer since the farm was established in the 1940s. Kisson Estate is known for its emphasis on precise processing and careful handling of each harvest. The coffee trees here belong to traditional Kenyan varieties such as SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, K7, and Batian.
Processing was carried out using the washed method with spontaneous fermentation, which is typical for Kenyan production. After harvesting, the cherries are sorted by hand, then fermented in water tanks and washed. Drying takes place on African beds under direct sunlight. This processing method emphasizes the purity of the cup and brings out the fruity notes with a distinctive acidity that are so characteristic of Kenyan coffees. The result is a filtered coffee with a precise structure, a juicy profile, and a long, fresh aftertaste.
