Kamavindi SL34 is juicy, layered, and precise. Flavors of red currant, gooseberry, and citrus zest unfold on a light, silky body with a floral finish that lingers pleasantly. Distinctive but not sharp, this coffee shows how a classic Kenyan variety can taste when done really well. The cup is pure, elegant and sweet, beautifully intertwined with bright acidity and a refined structure. It's exactly the kind of coffee you'll want to take a few extra minutes to explore its layers.

The coffee comes from the Kamavindi Estate in the heart of the Kirinyaga region, run by the Mbature brothers, a pair obsessed with quality. After their success with the rare Geisha variety, the roaster knew they would want to return here. This time, the brothers are presenting a pure lot of the SL34 variety – a classic Kenyan cultivar known for its clarity, balance, and aromatic depth. But in Kamavindi's hands, SL34 takes on a new dimension – it is fresh, complex, and accessible at the same time, a combination we don't often see in Kenyan coffees.

Kamavindi SL34 coffee is processed using the traditional Kenyan washed method with an emphasis on precision. Hand-picked cherries are carefully selected and undergo a multi-stage fermentation process that is carefully controlled to enhance the purity and clarity of the flavor. After fermentation, the coffee beans are thoroughly washed and slowly dried on sun terraces, ensuring balance and a smooth texture. This careful processing gives the coffee a unique layer of flavors, precision, and a silky character that corresponds to the highest quality.

Acidity
The taste profile matches the description 100%.
A slight bitterness at the end, but this was resolved by coarser grinding.
