Sidamo coffee will charm you at the first sip - and the roaster behind it , Andraschko, has really gone the extra mile. This medium-dark filter roasted coffee from the heart of Ethiopia has an exceptional lightness and sophisticated depth of flavour. Notes of forest fruit, jasmine and black tea mingle in the cup - an elegant combination that will delight those who seek floral-fruity profiles with a subtle acidity and delicate aftertaste.

The coffee is sourced from the Sidamo region, specifically the Shantewene village area, where the majority of the local population is devoted to coffee - many of whom are women who play a key role in picking and sorting the coffee cherries. The farm operates 15 washing stations located in three different districts, which together process all the harvest for export. Thanks to these facilities, it is possible to maintain high quality standards and transparent traceability of each batch. Exceptional care for the growing community is evidenced by the Out-Growers Day event held in 2018, where 1,000 farmers gathered to celebrate the harvest, receive a second payment for their cherries and the best of them were rewarded for their extraordinary work. Sidamo is thus not just a place of cultivation - it is a living organism where coffee stands for opportunity, pride and the future.

What makes this coffee even more interesting is its organic certification and ecological approach to processing. All of the farms involved in production are certified organic and C.A.F.E. Practices and continue to earn other sustainable awards. The coffee is processed using the washed method - that is, after hand-picking and sorting, the coffee cherries are stripped of their pulp, fermented in water and then carefully dried. This method of processing gives the resulting beverage purity, clarity of flavour profile and enhances its subtle floral and tea notes. Thanks to the high altitude of 2210 m above sea level, the coffee cherries have plenty of time to mature, which contributes to their rich flavour and distinctive aroma.

The packaging says medium dark roast. Unfortunately, even with coffee, you can "burn" it once a year with bad coffee.
This is simply not a select coffee. It has the typical bitter taste of overroasted supermarket coffee such as Lavazza or Tchibo.
