Aricha Ethiopia from Casino Mocca is a filter coffee with a distinct tropical flavor that will delight anyone looking for something fun, juicy, and not entirely ordinary. The taste is dominated by notes of pineapple, curaçao liqueur, and cocoa beans, with the juiciness of ripe fruit beautifully complementing the deeper chocolate body. Anaerobic natural processing gives the coffee a slightly fermented touch and complexity that creates harmony between sweetness, acidity, and depth in the cup.
This coffee comes from the high-altitude Yirgacheffe region in the Gedeo zone, one of Ethiopia's most famous coffee regions. The coffee is grown by small farmers at altitudes of 1,900–2,100 meters above sea level and harvested by hand, with careful selection of the ripest cherries.
After being brought to the station, the cherries are first sorted by hand and then sealed in plastic bags from which the air is sucked out, creating an anaerobic environment. During the 3-day fermentation process, the color of the cherries changes from red to yellow and the flavors develop intensely. After fermentation, the coffee is dried without shade on African beds for 15-18 days until it reaches the desired moisture content. It is then transported to Addis Ababa, where it undergoes final hulling, sorting, and preparation for export. The indigenous heirloom variety used is a native Ethiopian genetic line, which, combined with careful anaerobic processing, produces coffee with a rich aroma, structure, and unforgettable flavor.
