In your cup, you're in for an elegant and clean experience with a floral aroma and juicy fruitiness that will be the perfect start to your day. This select Arabica is sourced from the West Valley region and has been processed using the Black Honey method , which adds a pleasant sweetness and smoothness to the coffee.
Marvin Barrantes, a producer from the San Luis region of Costa Rica, is the man behind this coffee . His family-owned micro-mill "Reina Elizabeth" is named after his mother - a woman with unforgettable blue eyes and a heart in the right place. Locals called her the Queen, and her coffee is just as regal. Marvin started processing his own coffee in 2012 and has been continuously improving the quality ever since, working with varieties like Caturra and Millenio. His goal is to combine traditional practices with a modern approach, and the result is this exceptional coffee.
Black Honey is a concept in the coffee world - and in Marvin's hands, it's a tribute to patience and precision. After hand-picking, the beans go through a selection of floats, then the husk is removed, but all the mucilage remains on the beans during the drying process. Drying takes place slowly on African beds and in the greenhouse for approximately 12 days. After resting in parchment, the grains are dehulled and sorted. This method gives the coffee its typical sweetness, fine texture and rich flavour complexity. A great choice for those looking for something subtly extravagant - yet approachable.
