Costa Rica El Encanto from Ovni Coffee is a coffee that will enchant you from the very first whiff. Behind this coffee is Rolando Fonseca, a member of the renowned Costa Rican cooperative COOPEDOTA. On his farm, Finca El Encanto, in the Santa María de Dota area of the Tarrazú region, he grows coffee at an altitude of 1,850 meters above sea level, where the mountain climate and fertile soil create ideal conditions for select varieties. Founded in 1960, COOPEDOTA became the world’s first carbon-neutral coffee cooperative in 2011 and has long been a leader in both quality and sustainability. The combination of family care on the farm and the cooperative’s professional infrastructure gives this coffee a solid foundation and a distinct identity.

The Geisha variety, originally from the forests of Ethiopia, has found a new home here in the mountains of Costa Rica. It is prized for its aromatic complexity and delicate structure, which requires maximum precision during processing. In this case, the honey method was used, in which the beans are dried while still encased in the sweet pulp of the coffee cherry. This process allows the natural sugars to concentrate and the sweetness to be highlighted, while the coffee retains the typical bright acidity of Costa Rica. Thanks to the COOPEDOTA team’s many years of experience, the entire process is perfected down to the last detail. The result is an elegant, multi-layered cup that combines the Ethiopian heritage of the variety with Costa Rican precision.
