A tropical Colombian coffee with floral and honey notes. This coffee from the Fincamigos farm in Colombia will surprise you in your cup – in a very pleasant way. The flavor is dominated by elderflower, juicy pineapple, and a subtle hint of honey. Gradually, notes of strawberry and peach emerge, and the whole is rounded off by a balanced body with a long, sweet finish. This is a coffee full of life – floral, tropical, and beautifully clean. It is ideal for filter brewing, not only for advanced specialty coffee fans, but also for those looking for something new and fun.
This coffee comes from the Fincamigos farm, located in the mountains near the town of Jardín in the Antioquia region. This is no ordinary farm – it is an experimental project by Cafexport, which is testing new varieties and approaches to coffee cultivation here. In addition to SL28, Geisha, Laurina, and Sudan Rume are also grown here. Fincamigos combines top quality with respect for nature – they have planted over 650 species of native trees on part of their land, creating space for biodiversity and bird migration. In addition to coffee, this has a positive impact on the surrounding community and landscape.
The SL28 variety originally comes from Kenya and is known for its distinctly floral and fruity profile. It is not commonly grown in Colombia, making this lot truly exceptional. The ripe cherries are harvested by hand, fermented in water for approximately 48 hours, and then slowly dried on raised beds for about 8 days. Thanks to this careful processing, the coffee retains its purity, aroma, and delicate structure. The result is a flavorful yet accessible cup that shows what is possible when tradition is combined with vision and innovation.
