Wow! A new addition to the Quo Coffee roastery, Colombia – El Porveniroffers a coffee experience that is well worth trying. Once brewed, this select lot develops into a complex yet easily recognizable profile with notes of red apples, chocolate milk, and lavender. The coffee is lightly roasted for filter methods and its juiciness and tannic character are reminiscent of the best Kenyan coffees. The taste is velvety and almost jammy – elegant and captivating at the same time. A great choice for anyone who wants to treat themselves to a cup of filter coffee!
The beans come from the Palestina region of Huila, one of the highest and most respected micro-regions in Colombia. The Finca El Porvenir farm is run by Sandra Milena Mora and Hector Coy, partners who have been dedicated to coffee for more than a decade. They mainly grow Tabi and Caturra varieties on their land, which, thanks to the high altitude and careful processing, develop into exceptionally clean and elegant profiles. Their focus on quality, soil care, and long-term cooperation with Quo Coffee lead to an exceptionally stable and clear taste in every harvest.
The coffee was processed using the washed method, which emphasizes the purity and elegance of its flavor. The hand-picked cherries were fermented, then washed and dried on raised beds. This processing brings out the fruity tones, delicate acidity, and floral nuances that are characteristic of this variety.
