The renowned American roaster Onyx Coffee Lab presents a unique washed coffee from Burundi that will delight all lovers of clean, fruity cups with pleasant acidity. Each cup is filled with juicy notes of grape and clementine, complemented by a sweet hint of chocolate and caramelized sugar. The resulting flavor profile of this coffee is beautifully clean, balanced, and irresistibly sweet—perfect for when you want to treat yourself to something special!

This coffee comes from the Muramvya region of Burundi, specifically from the area around Gaharo Hill, where the Long Miles project was first launched in 2011. This initiative by Ben and Kristy Carlson brings together over 5,000 small farmers and emphasizes transparency, education, and quality. Today, the project also operates in other African countries, Uganda and Kenya, where it continues to spread the idea of sustainable farming, cooperation, and community.

The washed method used to process the coffee perfectly highlights its clean and complex character, which is typical of Burundian coffees. Thanks to precise hand picking and careful sorting in water baths, only the highest quality coffee cherries are processed. The cherries are then hulled and dry fermented for 24 hours. After fermentation, the coffee is thoroughly washed and sorted according to density, which ensures consistent quality. This is followed by slow drying for 15 days on raised African beds, where the beans are regularly turned to ensure even drying and prevent the beans from losing their distinctive flavor.
