This Brazilian coffee from Blind Monkey is an espresso blend that combines red berries, milk chocolate, caramel, and honey, giving the cup a delicately fruity and sweet flavor. The espresso offers a fuller body, a chocolate base, and a pleasant caramel finish. It strikes a perfect balance between traditional chocolate richness and a modern, slightly fruity profile.
The coffee comes from the Santa Izabel farm in Brazil’s Sul de Minas region. The lot is produced by Humberto Florezi Filho, and the variety is Red Catuai, one of the most common Arabica varieties in Brazil. Coffee trees here grow at an elevation of 1,200 meters above sea level, and local conditions allow the cherries to ripen slowly. The Santa Izabel farm is known for its emphasis on quality and its long-term work with various varieties—they grow several dozen here, typically around forty varieties.
After harvest, the coffee undergoes natural processing. The cherries are dried whole, allowing the beans to retain their sweetness, fuller body, and subtly fruity character. At the same time, fermentation adds greater depth and complexity to the cup without making the coffee seem heavy or overly wild. The result is a specialty coffee with a very pleasant balance of fruitiness, chocolate, and honeyed sweetness—one you can easily enjoy in your cup every day.
