The Timemore X Millab M01 is a hand grinder for those of you who take coffee and design seriously. Its solid metal body, silver finish, and precise workmanship make it more like a watchmaker's tool than an ordinary grinder. Inside, you will find proprietary "Pineapple Burrs"– special 44mm grinding stones with an extended grinding path, which are comparable in performance to 64mm flat stones. This offers clean, distinctive flavors and a very narrow particle distribution for both espresso and filtered coffee.
The M01 has an external "lens-inspired" control ring with up to 100 micro-steps, each measuring just 12.5 microns. The settings are smooth, clearly marked, and click firmly into place with each click, with no play and no guessing where you were before. The range extends from fine espresso to mocha, pour-over, and coarse grinding for French press or cold brew, so one grinder can handle all your home brewing needs. Stability is ensured by a pair of precision P7 bearings and extremely small tolerances (burr gap around 0.0725 mm), so the stones run coaxially and the grinding is repeatable cup after cup.
The body of the grinder is completely metal, composed of more than 50 separate parts made of aluminum alloy and stainless steel. The catch tray has a threadless "snap-to-lock"bayonet and holds up to about 50g of coffee – enough for a double espresso or pour-over. Weighing around 1.1 kg, the M01 feels very stable in the hand, but is still compact enough for everyday use. The grinder won the Good Design Award 2024 for its industrial design, confirming that it's not just about top-quality grinding, but also about the joy of every turn of the handle.
