More Confidence in Your Brewing
OREA drippers are known for their fast and efficient flow. That’s great, but with some coffees, the brew can be too fast, resulting in a cup that tastes flat, sharp, or unbalanced. Adjusters #2 and #4 help slow the flow by regulating the water outlet at the bottom of the brewer without causing the coffee to clog or disrupting the open design of the dripper itself.
When to Use Them
You’ll especially appreciate these regulators with more heavily processed coffees, very light roasts, or, conversely, more developed profiles that benefit from a cleaner extraction. With fermented coffees, they allow you to grind coarser while maintaining a normal brew time. With light roasts, they help extend the contact time between the water and the coffee. The result can be a sweeter, cleaner, and more predictable cup.
The Difference Between #2 and #4
Regulator #2 is the slower option in the set and is suitable when you want to significantly slow down the flow rate. Regulator #4 is the medium option, which adds control but still keeps the brew pleasantly brisk.
