Its shape is based on a trapezoid, while the internal spiral ribbing ensures even water flow. Two small drainage holes deliberately slow down the extraction, so the coffee is extracted more slowly and steadily. The result? Better control and a cleaner flavor profile even without a barista course. For a better overview, Hario has added side markings indicating the recommended amount of ground coffee—ideal when you don't have a scale handy.
