If you own a Baratza Encore ESP grinder (models ZCG495B or ZCG495W), this original upper burr holder is exactly what you need to get your grinder working like new again. The burr holder is a key component of the grinding mechanism – its job is to hold the upper burr (ring burr) firmly in place so that the coffee is ground evenly and without unnecessary vibration or noise.
Over time and with use, the holder can wear out, deform, or even crack. If the holder loses its proper strength or shape, the upper grinding stone can move inaccurately, leading to inconsistent grinding, increased noise, or damage to other parts of the grinder. Instead of buying a whole new grinder, simply replace this relatively inexpensive but crucial component.
This Ring Burr Holder is designed exclusively for Baratza Encore ESP (ZCG495B/ZCG495W) models. It is not compatible with the standard Baratza Encore grinder, Virtuoso+ models, or other Baratza conical burr models that have a different holder system. If you own a different grinder model, you will need to select the correct holder or a complete holder and burr set. For these grinders, Baratza also offers separate Ring Burr and Holder Sets, which include both the holder and the burr.
This product only includes the plastic holder for the upper burr (Ring Burr Holder). It does not include the burr itself (ring burr). If you also need to replace the burr, we recommend purchasing a complete set of burrs and holders designed for your grinder.
How do you know when it's time to replace the holder?
- The grinder makes unusual noises that it did not make before
- The coffee is ground unevenly, with significant variability in coarseness
- You feel vibrations or movement of the upper burr during grinding
- When disassembling the grinder, you find that the holder is cracked, worn, or deformed
