If there is one thing that is the greatest enemy of roasted coffee, it is air, apart from heat and light. Roasted beans readily oxidize in the air, changing their flavor profile and losing their aroma. On the other hand, during roasting, a large amount of carbon dioxide is trapped in the beans, which gradually escapes (which is why it is necessary to let the coffee rest after roasting before preparing it). Both of these problems are elegantly solved bya vacuum container.
The American company Planetary Design was founded in the inhospitable environment of the Rocky Mountains, from where it brought precisely crafted products to the world of coffee—and with them, AirScape. AirScape is currently the most cleverly designed vacuum container on the market. Unlike other containers, which can only remove a limited amount of air from the container, AirScape has a double lid, the bottom part of which can be pressed inwards towards the coffee, thereby pushing out all excess air. In addition, a one-way valve allows CO2 to escape continuously without letting oxygen in. This allows us to keep coffee fresh and full of aroma for longer.
