Our speciality coffee roastery, Icástico Caffe was founded in 2016 with the vision of roasting good quality coffee using the most precise methods.
We aim to satisfy our mutual desire for this magical beverage in which we all find so much comfort and pleasure in. The name Icástico itself is an homage to nature; coffee in itself is a gift. The word "icástico" comes from the Spanish word for "from nature".
To ensure that we offer you only the best coffee there is, we only cooperate with producers who really put a lot of emphasis on the quality of their crop, from preparing the soil, to the effort that goes into taking care of the crop, gentle harvesting, selection, processing and preparation for export.
Our task is to then take the best care we can of this carefully selected and imported coffee. That means ensuring proper storage, carefully controlling the roasting process and the correct packaging and distribution in the last phase. To achieve the highest quality we can, we use the most advanced technology on the market and we are really particular about the smallest details in all aspects. An absolute given is the monitoring of the interior and exterior climate conditions which have substantial effects on the storage methods and the process of roasting itself.
Roasting technology and machinery from the German company PROBAT allows us to test and improve our roasting recipes, and to carefully monitor and adjust the roasting process of each batch. For the brewing of the coffee itself, we use the top-quality coffee machines by the Italian company, Nuova Simonelli, who for many years now has been the main sponsor of the World Barista Competitions. Our grinders for the preparation of freshly ground coffee are from the same world-renowned company.
