About Hundred House Coffee

Hundred House Coffee is a British micro-roastery. Their team comprises of the two founders, Matthew Wade and Anabelle De Gersigny. Their focus is roasting and producing smaller batches of coffee, but all the more refined. They take great care in sourcing, testing and roasting their beans until they have the absolutely perfect taste and aroma.

Matthew has been roasting coffee for more than 18 years. After graduating from art school, he moved to New Zealand where he worked as a barista in different cafes and roasteries. A few years later, in 2002, he moved back to London and took all the skills and experience he gained back with him, where he was one of the first to surf the speciality coffee wave in Great Britain. There he became one of the first Q-graders and he also graduated from Los Angeles Coffee Chemistry. He took part in countless competitions, not just as a participant, but also as a judge and speaker.

Anabelle is the one from the team that manages the roastery, and works closely with customers to build long lasting relationships with them. As a part of her role in the roastery, she tries to bring some art into the industry. She is the founder of Art-iculate and the Safina Radio Project. During the five years that she spent living in Middle East, she worked at Tashkeel, a company that focuses on working with creative individuals and startups. De Gersigny is also the founder and director of Tramp Depot, a project space in London. Between the years of 2005-2009 she worked in various positions in the realm of contemporary art, including research and editorial psoitions at Hauser & Wirth (London), Phaidon Press (London), and CAPHouse Studios (Japan). She is the curator of numerous art and design exhibitions, she works on publications, online platforms, magazines and with artists and designers.
