Are you craving an explosion of fruity notes in every cup and eager to explore new frontiers of flavor? Get ready for the best from the Vélez family at the renowned La Luisa farm. This gem from SUMO Coffee Roasters will delight both pour-over enthusiasts and espresso lovers alike thanks to its versatile roast. The moment you take your first sip, you’ll be immediately enveloped by the amazing flavor of ripe and incredibly juicy peaches. After a moment, this flavor elegantly blends into the sweet caress of thick apricot jam. Playful fruit candies round out this entire composition to perfection, and everything is harmoniously rounded off by a hint of honey. It’s simply not just another ordinary coffee, but a taste experience that will win you over at the very first sip.

The story of these exceptional beans began high in the Colombian mountains in the Antioquia region, specifically in the town of Ciudad Bolívar. Here, at an altitude of 1,720 meters above sea level, lies the La Luisa farm. Juan Pablo Vélez of the Vélez family oversees its operations. He has built a strong reputation thanks to his innovative approach to cultivation, with a maximum focus on precision and purity of flavor. The local mountain microclimate also provides perfect conditions for the highest quality beans.

This flavor profile is achieved through a double carbonic maceration method. Whole cherries are first fermented for 5 days in stainless steel tanks with no oxygen exposure. The coffee is then hulled and returned to the tanks along with the fermentation juice and fresh peaches for another 3 days. Finally, a gentle 5-day drying process takes place. The added fruit elegantly highlights the beans’ natural character without overpowering it in any way. The result is a perfectly clean and utterly unforgettable cup.
