Hario Clear Water Dripper will be a fantastic addition to your growing home setup. Suitable not only for your home but also for a cafe. The dripper grabs the attention of the whole room, making everyone feel like they're watching a complex scientific experiment.
Have you jumped onto the cold brew bandwagon? Do you want to try experimenting with making it at home? Unlike traditionally prepared coffee which is brewed with hot water, the Hario dripper is filled with cold water. The short extraction time when using hot water is replaced by slow and long extraction with cold water. Thanks to this, the resulting drink has slightly different properties. The coffee is characterized by increased sweet notes, lower acidity, and less bitterness. The body of the coffee is beautifully full and its aroma is fully developed.
The cold water in the upper container, which slowly drips through onto the coffee into the lower serving kettle through a stainless steel filter. Thanks to a metal valve, you can easily set the speed of water flow. Filtration takes several hours, depending on the valve settings and your taste.
Package contents:
- Hario Dripper
- Hario glass teapot
- Upper glass container with filter and a water valve
How to use the cold brew dripper:
- grind about 60 - 70 g of coffee (coarseness similar to a french press)
- pour the coffee into the container
- pour 700 - 800 ml of water into the upper container (we recommend a little less and top up with ice)
- set the drip speed by releasing the valve (20 - 30 drops per minute)
- For a more even extraction of coffee, we recommend placing an Aeropress filter or another paper filter on top of the coffee - this captures the dripping water, which is then better distributed to the ground coffee. (In short, you will not have a centred hole in the coffee)
- After 4 - 6 hours (depending on the coarseness of the grind and the speed of the water drip) your cold brew should be ready.
