Timemore Chestnut is a hand-held coffee grinder that perfectly combines metal, wood and plastic into a functional and reliable product. The modern design of this grinder won the world-famous The RedDot Award 2017.

The body of the grinder is made of one piece of aluminum, thanks to which the grinder is held in the hand comfortably and stably during grinding. The lower container for ground coffee is made of wood. Inside the grinder there are 2 bearings, which ensure that the grinding stones rub against each other regularly and with minimal deviation. This system is a key feature of the grinder and its consistency is great even when light roasted coffee.

Another advantage of the grinder is its grinding stones made of stainless steel. Each degree of grinding is even. The grinder is mainly suitable for preparing coffee using AeroPress, dripper or french press.

Hello, I have a dripping problem with the grinder - the grinding wheel keeps coming loose. After the last question, I ground 60g of coffee (in three brews; it didn't lift) and it was about 20+ from 15 cranks - because when grinding 40g of coffee for more brews, there were sadly large pieces of beans in the filter at the top, while it was solid at the bottom. Do you see it as user error, or is it strange behavior ripe for replacement?

Lydia:

Hello, Lydia. :)
It's hard to tell where the problem might be, from a distance like this. We do not encounter a similar problem with these grinders. If I were you, I would grind with different coarseness settings, maybe 12 clicks or more than 20, and I would observe whether the settings change during grinding. Of course, a potential complaint is also an option. :)
Regards, Kryštof.

Hello, I would like to ask if the Timemore Chestnut G1 grinder is also suitable for grinding espresso coffee.
Thank you for answer

David Frainšic:

Good day, David :)

This grinder is primarily intended for grinding filter coffees, i.e. rather coarser. It can also be set for very fine grinding, but it lacks, for example, the setting of micro levels, as is the case with grinders intended for grinding espresso.
